  • Average Length: 25-45cm
  • Average Weight: 1-1.5kg
  • Flesh is similar to Brill, both are apricot coloured to white and whiten on cooking. Both have delicate texture and taste.

 It is oval shaped with a long rostral hook on the upper jaw.  Is caught as by-catch with trawling in shallow waters around New Zealand and are available in small quantities all year round.
