Features

• Average Length: 20-30cm
• Average Weight: 200-500gm
• The flesh is very white, with a flavour similar to that of flounder or sole.

They have a prominient retractable dorsal spine protruding vertically from the head above the eye.  Leather jacket are caught all year round mainly by trawling.
